reduce white space in header

I’m using a child theme for the tiny forge theme. I want to reduce white space in the header, both above and below the title and description and the skyline image. Also, would like to move the max button phone number down. I’ve been fooling with margins, padding, etc in css, but nothing is working. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
