Seeing some strange spikes with no rhyme or reason. Lasts about a minute or so.

Reported as ‘Uncaught exception ‘RedisException’ with message ‘read error on connection’.

Not sure if it’s this plugin, but was curious if you had any ideas? We’re using php-fpm, so I’m assuming the persistent connections isn’t the issue.

  • Just wanted to add. We saw this with 0.4. Just upgraded to 0.6 to see if that helps.

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble!

Reported as ‘Uncaught exception ‘RedisException’ with message ‘read error on connection’.

This error means WordPress can’t connect to Redis, which could mean that your Redis instance is being overloaded with connections. You’ll want to revisit your Redis configuration to make sure it can handle the level of traffic you’re seeing to your site.

Thanks! In your 0.5 notes I see you wrote,

Performance boost! Removes redundant exists call from wp_cache_get(), which easily halves the number of Redis calls.

I’m assuming that should make a positive impact on our situation?

    It certainly should!

You might also look at the plugins you’re running, and debug whether they’re unnecessarily using the object cache. For instance, ACF writes a lot of data to the object cache that it doesn’t need to.
