redis issue with my isp

I am not sure if my redis is working. My isp says.

Redis on our platform uses a socket system rather than port. The entire path of which is unix:///home/sys/redis.sock so please try using this path for the caching plugin.

Does w3 cache work this way? I get statics on the one side and yet the tests fail.
