There’s not a lot of information to go on here, so I can only make guesses. Redirects don’t suddenly stop working on their own. What is the message? Has anything been updated? The problem is most likely caused by something else other than Redirection.
Hi John,
I think it might be Yoast, and we’re using translations on the site. Yoast updated today, so my guess is it’s causing some issues. I’ve gotten in touch with them and I’ll update this if they give me an answer.
Thank you!
Ashley
Hi @smack7s – we experienced a similar issue and also have Yoast, but uninstalling it didn’t solve the issue. Wondering if you had any luck resolving this?
Hi @hsturm1 – I only uninstalled the Yoast Pro, because we definitely need Yoast, but it took 24 hours for everything to take effect properly. I’m guessing the server, but you could refresh it if you want to hurry things along. Also, Yoast support suggested using the Redirect Checker Chrome extension, which will give you exactly what is causing the redirect, just in case it’s not coming from Yoast Pro. HIGHLY recommend. Best of luck and I hope this helps!!
Anything that involves waiting is almost certainly a cache.
You can use https://redirect.li to check a URL, and this is built directly into Redirection on the support page – an extension isn’t needed.
@johnny5 I wish that you had suggested that when I started this thread. That would have been much quicker! But at least I found that it was Yoast. π
@hsturm1 Yoast could not explain why some pages started redirecting all of a sudden (I did not set those redirects, because we use Redirection exclusively and had only just installed Yoast Pro), and were no help except for the Chrome extension suggestion, which is why we ended up deleting Yoast Pro.
Hmm. We have not used Yoast Pro, only the free version. So that may not be our issue. When I use the Redirect Tester via the support page, I get this message:
HTTP 302 Found - The resource has temporarily been moved to another location. This is superseded by 303 and 307.
URL is not being redirected with Redirection
Target: https://iac.mdschoolconstruction.org/index.php
In Redirection, source URL /wp-content/uploads/2021/01/FIN-Original-APG-Revised-8-20-20-1.pdf is set to redirect to target URL https://iac.mdschoolconstruction.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/APG-Revised-9.14.2021.pdf using a 301 code. So it appears that something is changing the target from what I set in Redirection.

It would be better to start a new thread than continue an unrelated one.
@hsturm1 This is how you want to test: https://redirect.li
Thank you both for your help. I will coordinate with our IT folks and start a new thread if we make any notable progress here.
