 * I am in the process of merging two existing sites into one. All the content from
MaxLaxLA.com will be migrated to MaxLaxOC.com. In intend to re-direct the MaxLaxLA.
com (and all associated posts/pages) using the redirects app in C Panel (choosing
301 directs and the wild card option).
 * Is this the best way to accomplish my goal? Just want to make sure so I dont
   mess things up.

 * If everything is staying exactly the same, then 301 redirecting the entire domain
with paths intact is probably the best way which judging from your original post,
seems to be what your CPanel option is doing. Things become more tricky if you
want to redirect only some content, and you might have to resort to using something
like htaccess or if the original site was to remain up you could use one of the
   existing WordPress redirect plugins.
