# Redirection After Permalink Change Not Working

 * I’m trying to change a site’s permalink structure from /%postname%/ to /%category%/%
   postname%/ but it’s not working. It’s not redirecting and I’m getting 404 errors.
 * Interestingly, the 404 error is not showing up in the plugins 404 log (and keep
   forever has been selected as the timeframe for that option).
 * Is there anything else I can do to get the plugin to detect the permalink structure
   change and update the 301 redirect for all posts, or do I need to manually add
   a redirection for each post (and there are many).

 * It all depends on how you have those redirects setup. Were they local redirects
   or did they have the full domain name? Do you have monitor posts on? Either way
   I would go in and try changing a few manually to see if that takes care of the
   issue, then you’ll know your answer.
