• I’ve been redirecting mobile devices from:
    [ redundant link removed ]
    to:
    /mobilanpassad-sida/

This is to make sure the website I’m currently developing looks decent on mobile devices as well as desktop. The problem is the loading times for my page for mobile devices are often above 3 seconds which is way too long. The following screen shot is loading time and landing page size when connecting through desktop:
    https://gyazo.com/6953b022c661c830a228efd5eb61e558

And this is when connecting through mobile devices:

For some reason the size is huge for mobile devices, I suppose this combined with the redirection is what causes the long loading times. I’m using a plugin called “Simple Mobile URL Redirect” to redirect users from desktop page to mobile page.

I’m unsure of how to remedy this and I’m very thankful for any advice.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello!

The ones who can properly help you with this would be the developers of Simple Mobile URL Redirect on the dedicated forum. But, since that plugin hasn’t been updated in over 2 years, you might not get an answer.

You shouldn’t use an extremely outdated plugin anyway because a lot of things can go wrong with it, from performance to compatibility issues.

Also, the theme that you’re using, Flash, is already fully responsive (mobile ready). Why do you need to create separate pages for mobiles?

I created a seperate landing page for mobile because the same header didn’t look very good for both desktop and mobile so I made two different headers and put them on the respective pages. Also I had some problems making other pictures and text look properly for mobile the way I had configured them for desktop.

I guess my main question is why the program I used to check loading times says my mobile page is 12.7mb while my desktop page is just 242kb. They look pretty much the same and are configured similarly so I don’t understand why there is such a vast difference.

    Thanks for your response

The only thing that crosses my mind is that, perhaps, you added larger images for the mobile part.

Maybe you forgot to optimize them and they’re, like, 4 MB each.

Or, perhaps it has to do with that outdated plugin. Who knows what it’s doing…
