Redirect to another page

I’m trying to add navigation to my website to redirect to different pages. At the moment the navigation redirects to the page link but it still keeps displaying the home page. How can I make it so the website shows the correct page when a user navigates through the website?

Not sure if this is helpful but plugins can make things a lot easier if you don’t want to edit code. I currently use a redirection plugin (https://redirection.me/) and it works a treat. For example it allows me to redirect https://example.com/category/podcast/ to https://example.com/podcasts/.
