i am using the plugin on my homepage because the mailchimp form builder itself (when validation errors occur) will redirect to a new page with the form. I want the form to show an inline error validation that's why i'm using the plugin.
Now, i want the form to redirect to a thank you page after succesfuly subscribing. Can i do this without switching to the embedded form of mailchimp?

    so in short:
    1. error in validation will now switch to a new tab page (must use inline)
    2. redirect to thank you page

I've already tried disabling the fancy javascript option in mailchimp option AND inserting a redirect link in mailchimp.com

    Hey Cherrydee,

Thanks for getting in touch! For that automatic redirect along with inline validation, it would be necessary to use the embedded form from MailChimp with Javascript enabled. This may require a bit of troubleshooting Javascript conflicts between the plugin and the page itself when first implementing, but the embedded form does allow for inline validation via Javascript with a fallback to the separately hosted form. Entering the redirect link in MailChimp won't have an effect on the plugin, so the embedded form would be the way to go.

If you have other questions, please let us know. We'll be glad to assist.
