    re: posting redirects to 404

    Hi everyone.

I was having this very same problem on a previous install of 2.92 last month. I gave up trying to fix it after seeking help here, anbd elsewhere. So I did aa reinstall yesterday, and now, 2 posts in – same thing.

    When I post, I get a 404 page here:
    http://commercial-real-estate-tucson.com/blog/wp-admin/post.php

PS I deleted the .htaccess file in the WP root – no success

    Thanks all & everyone!

    Al

For anyone interested. my host (LiquidWeb) said this:

You were being blocked by a ModSecurity rule. I have gone ahead and
whitelisted this rule for you. You should be able to post now. Please feel free to test this out and let me know if it is working properly for you.

    They also said:

It looks like the post you were trying to make was being triggered by ModSecurity as a Generic SQL Injection attack.

It was probably triggered by some special keywords being put in a certain order some of the key words include from, select, union, include, etc. More or less, generic SQL keywords. If they are put together in a specific order there is a possibility that ModSecurity can be triggered. This was obviously a false positive so the rule can be whitelisted without issue.

ModSecurity has to do with the software that serves up the web pages in Apache.
