Support » Plugins » Redirect Single Sub Dir to Home

  • Hello,

I have worked a bit with htaccess, this is going over my head and I need a steer in the right direction. If there are any posts already on this or any plugins that can help, please direct me. (I’ve tried the redirect plugin but it doesn’t seem to do exactly what I need).

The site in question here is: http://www.castaluna.com/

We’re working on this e-commerce site where we have set up a WP blog (for SEO) on /blog/. We’ve installed it in a subdir because it will remain once the store is online.
Hitting / shows an html page with a menu pointing the the different areas of the blog.

I want to avoid people being able to view /blog/ (the WordPress root) where all the articles and different types of non-formatted data will be shown. I want to restrict people to being able to see only the sub categories I have in the menu.

Ideally, by hitting / I would like a rule that does a 301 redirect to /blog/ but that shows /index.php with some sort of rewrite kungfu. The rest of the links on the site should work normally.

    Can anyone help?

    Seb
