Redirect Problem with Non-English URL Slugs

Hello,

I am having an issue with the after-login redirection in the WPDM plugin. The expected behavior is to redirect users to the page they were on before logging in. However, I have noticed that when the URL contains non-English slugs, specifically Farsi slugs, it leads to a 404 error. For instance, if my URL appears as “example.com/download/[non-English slug],” it is transformed into “example.com/download/” or “example.com/download/—-/” after logging in.

I kindly request your assistance and guidance in resolving this issue.

Greetings for the day.

We have tested your reported issue and it’s not occurring on our end.

So, can you please try creating a new page with a Farsi title for example: صبح بخیر to check whether a similar issue is appearing or not?

Thank you for your quick response. I did so, but unfortunately, the issue still persists. I also deactivated all other plugins and switched to the default twenty twenty-three theme, but the problem continues to occur. I noticed that there are no error messages being displayed in the console or in the debug.log file.

The only temporary solution I found for the issue was to add an English slug at the beginning of the Farsi-slug URL. For instance, I replaced the original link: ‘example.com/download/صبح-بخیر’ with this modified link: ‘example.com/download/hi-صبح-بخیر’

I have tested by following the above slug structure and it worked well for me.

Thank you @mrshuvo . In your example, access has been granted to “all visitors,” so there would be no redirection after logging in. Would you mind changing the access level to “subscriber” or “admin” to see if the redirection process works for you well?

Thank you for your time. To better explain my issue, I need to mention that I have enabled the modal popup, which uses the following code for redirection:
```
<a href="http://localhost/wpdm/wp-login.php?redirect_to=[this_url]" class="btn btn-danger wpdmloginmodal-trigger btn-sm"> Login</a>
```
I have tested your plugin on a fresh WordPress installation on my localhost, with no other plugins except yours. Here is the problem that occurs:
