Redirect – permalink clash

    Hi John,
    I noticed a problem with redirects that have the url identical to a post permalink.
    Basically this happened to me:
    – in September Redirection URL Monitor generated a redirect after the rename of a post.
    – in November another post was created with the same permalink as the redirect created in September.

    Neither WP nor Redirection reported the problem and we noticed it only when the post was online.

    how can this be avoided?

    It’s just something you will need to be aware of. If you often run into this situation then you can disable the monitoring.
