[resolved] Redirect old permalinks to new permalinks (2 posts)

I have changed some permalinks and need to redirect the old ones to the new ones.

    Redirect permanent /old-parentpagename1/old-pagename2/ http://www.mysite.com/new-parentpagename1/new-pagename2/

    This returns:
    http://www.mysite.com/new-parentpagename1/old-pagename2/

Which makes sense according to this:
    http://apache.active-venture.com/mod/mod_alias.html#redirect

I take it that this can't be done with a Redirect permanent, but requires a RewriteRule instead. Can someone please offer the correct syntax?

    TIA!!

The UrbanGiraffe Redirection plugin came to my rescue! (As did Google in helping me find this... the WP forum search is not very good.)

On another blog, I needed to redirect default permalinks to a new custom structure, and Scott Yang's Permalink Redirect WordPress Plugin worked perfectly.

    All hail WP plugin developers!!
