# redirect loop problem – cannot access admin

 * When I try to login I get this message:
    The webpage at [http://www.johan-potgieter.com/leatherlearn/wp-admin/](http://www.johan-potgieter.com/leatherlearn/wp-admin/)
   has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site may fix
   the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem
   with your computer.
 * I cannot see on my page what version I am running, because I cannot login to 
   wp-admin.php
 * Help please – I am loosing my host in a few days and need to get my blog exported
   so that I can move to a new host!

 * Use ftp to rename your .htaccess (to disable it) and delete your plugins. One
   of these may be causing problems. Also see:

 * I have renamed my .htaccess (it is in the root directory and not in the /leatherlearn
   subdirectory)
    and I still cannot login to admin.
 * is there anything else I can try?

 * In a previous message about the same problem, I read :
 * “if u have revert the permalinks to default setting like ?p=123 structure it 
   will work.”
 * How do I change anything about the permalinks?

 * I checked, and you are already using the default permalinks. If you want to reset
   them (just in case it helps), go Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks and click
   Save Changes even if you haven’t changed anything.

 * How do I get to the Dashboard without logging in?
 * I also found reference to a ‘canonical’ file in the forums, but I used FTP to
   look for that and could not find it anywhere …
