• Hello,

I have recently set up a site running WordPress, it has been ticking along nicely, with no real issues until now.

Recently I have had many people ( Mainly from the USA ) tell me they can not log into or register for my site.

It seems to be randomly selective as to who it allows to register or login, and for everyone else they are presented with a redirect loop, a blank page or a 404 page.

I have tried many things and have been searching forums endlessly.

Removed .htaccess file, refresh permalinks – replace .htaccess file

    Deactivated all plugins

    Replaced theme with default theme

Asked users to totally clear their cache of any cookies related to my site.

    But still to no avail.

I can access the site fine, and all links / login pages work perfect.
What would be causing only select people to get 404’s or redirect loops?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The site is mkausgamer.com

  • As the problem is limited to only selective users, it is NOT a problem with your WordPress setup or plugins. The problem is more likely related to the ISP or the typical devices used to access to your site.

    Thanks for your reply.

I’m not sure what region / country you are located in, but if you click the login link on my site, do you get a 404 error?

The problem popped up randomly, and many users were able to comment and login previously, but are now unable to do so.

I am at the point where, I might have to remove the entire site, and start again.

I don’t find any such problem – I am accessing your site from New Delhi (India).

However, you may try to reinstall an unedited copy of 2013 theme and deactivate all plugins and see if the problem still persist.

    Thanks again.

I have already reverted to an unedited theme and deactivated all plugins, the error still occurs ( mainly for USA visitors )

It’s looking like a clean wipe of everything and starting again is my only option.

I can’t find anyone with a similar issue anywhere.
