Redirect loop on homepage

Hello,
We are using the Ultimate Member plugin on our clients website.
We notice if an user logs in with UM and goes or clicks to the homepage, he or she will get a redirect loop.
I tried various things to solve this, but currently the only thing that makes this problem stop is deactivating this plugin, which of course is not a good solution.
I noticed this subject was already discussed here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/homepage-redirect-issue/ and here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/ultimate-member-too-many-redirects/ and tried some things that are mentioned in these two topics but nothing helps.
For instance I tried to deactivate and remove, then reinstall the plugin, like mentioned here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/homepage-redirect-issue/ but it did not work.
How can we solve this?

I checked the document and I tested chapter “1. Page Settings” on our stage-site: I made sure all pages are defined and are unique (they are all defaults).
I noticed when I click/go to the homepage I don’t get the “too many redirects” error anymore. However I now get redirected to my UM User or Account page (I don’t know the difference). The URL is something like: https://domain.com/user/rowdy-dc-79uhgsewthysdfggsfhsadgfdfsgdfsgdfs/?redirect_to=https://domain.com/ . Why is that and how can I fix this so I can just go to my homepage?
Look at “Allow Homepage to be accessible” setting in
UM Settings -> Access -> Restriction Content
