# Redirect Loop Error

 * Hello guys/gals,
 * This is my first attempt at installing wordpress ever.
    As of right now what 
   i have done is, created a static webpage with a link (“blog”) to the index.php
   in the wordpress 4.1 folder that i downloaded.
 * After i did that, and ftp’d the whole directory which includes my website’s files
   along with the wordpress, I went to my website and clicked the blog link. It 
   just told me to click the button to create the wp-config online. But the button
   didn’t work, so I just edited the sample wp-config manually and file transferred
   that. Now, when I click the blog link it says this webpage has a redirect loop.
 * I’ve been trying all sorts of different solutions that supposedly worked for 
   others but none have worked for me (been going at this for a couple hours).
 * Help would be greatly appreciated!

 * Hi,
 * Have you renamed your sample config file wp-config-sample to wp-config.php file.
 * Do these changes in your your wp-config file-
 * define(‘DB_NAME’, ‘your database name’);
 * define(‘DB_USER’, ‘your username’);
 * define(‘DB_PASSWORD’, ‘your password’);
 * define(‘DB_HOST’, ‘host name here’);
 * define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’);

 * Yes, I have done all those things but the problem unfortunately still remains.
   Any other ideas?
