Support » Plugin: WordPress HTTPS (SSL) » Redirect Loop

  • Hi Mike,

This is a tremendously useful plugin. Thanks for putting it together! This isn’t so much a support question as a thank-you and an informative note about a problem I resolved.

I was having having a little trouble getting it to work. On a page I marked to be sure, I got this error in Chrome:

This webpage has a redirect loop

The webpage at https://xxx.com/wp/?page_id=110 has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

    [...]

Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects

    Firefox said:

    The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

It turns out that once I uncheck the WooCommerce option “Un-force HTTPS when leaving the checkout” that everything works fine. So WooComm and your plugin were duking it out over securing the page.

Just thought you’d like to know about that for future reference.

    Keep up the great work!

    Best regards,

    John

  • Thanks for posting this. I was getting a redirect loop after making my contact page https and ran across your post while searching for a solution. Unchecking “Un-force HTTPS when leaving the checkout” worked for me too.

I’m considering adding checks for popular E-commerce plugins to avoid conflicts. At the very least I would like to add a warning to the Dashboard to alert the user of the conflict.
