# redirect html to wordpress

 * Hello,
 * I have a site in html [http://www.ivespa.com](http://www.ivespa.com) which I 
   would like to change to WordPress.org. I have the new wp-theme but am worried
   about the search engine with the different url’s the wp site will have. I was
   told to use a 301 redirect, would a 301 redirect be required for every page or
   would one 301 cover the complete site.
    Any other suggestions/recommendations
   would be welcomed.

 * A 301 redirect would be required for each page.
 * Or when you create the new site you can create the pages with the same URL so
   it wouldn’t have to do that.
 * You can use a plugin like [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-permalinks/](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-permalinks/)
   and you can define each URL to match each page.

 * Would the 301 be entered only on the old HTML page?
    Would it be entered in the
   head section for each page?
 * Is there a 301 tutorial which you recommend?

 * If you look at the screenshot it is basically a page where you enter your old
   URL’s on the left and on the right you enter the new URL. Simple.
