How can i make a link on the full site that would redirect users to the amp equivalent page of the same page the user is currently on?

I want to put a link in the footer that would always grab the current URL where the user is currently and add AMP on the end to redirect them to the same page but for the AMP formatted one.

I’m quite new to PHP and Javascript and couldn’t find any solutions elsewhere.

    Hey @roland58

So, you would like to have a AMP version link on the normal website page, right?

Where exactly would you want to have this link?

Some more precise details would be helpful along with the URL.

    Regards,
    Ahmed

    Thank you for your reply!

    What i would like is:

When a user is on, let’s say http://www.page.com/article-post/

I want a link in the footer for the AMP version of the page that would automatically redirect the user to the same post (www.page.com/article-post/) but to the AMP version.

So, this is what i meant by saying redirecting the user from the full mobile site to the amp version of it.

    Thank you for the help!

    Hey @roland58,

Yes, it is possible, but we have to custom code it as per the requirements of the theme.

We can’t put it universally as different themes have different requirements.

Hope it helps you to understand.

If you have any more queries, please feel free to ask.

Thanks. That’s fine. I don’t approve comments anymore since I learned that they can contain viruses or something. I think if I put two paragraph breaks in, it will make it display properly.

    Thank you for explaining 🙂
