If it’s just the email to the user that isn’t going out, there are a couple things to check to make sure it’s set up correctly to send those emails. The first is “Send Sign Up Emails” needs to be set to “Yes” in the “Basic” area of the “Options” tab. You will then also need to make sure that what you have input for the “Email Field Name” in the “Emails” tab matches exactly what the name of your email field is, as it shows in the “Fields” tab.
For the redirect, when I go to http://averjoe.com/hrcc/thank-you-for-registering/, I get a page not found error.
I have made sure the option is at Yes. I am also using the username is email function, so I should leave the email field name empty on the emails tab, correct? The emails aren’t being sent to the users after they register either or when they get approved. I had installed the WP email plugin ya’ll had suggested but I don’t know what to put in the field, even after trying to follow the steps. The only email I receive is the email to my gmail saying that there was a new user who registered.
I had accidentally deleted that page, but have recreated it. The redirect should be:
[register redirect_page=’http://averjoe.com/hrcc/thank-you-for-registering/’%5D
I have added a register button at the bottom of the website http://www.hamptonroadscamaroclub.com called Register – Test.
I no longer have the register page or redirect still active. I have had to take it down for my users were getting confused. If there is a way to get all of the information needed to set up the suggested WP mail addon. What to fill in the boxes as well as what settings to say “yes” and “no” to on the options basic/premium.
What information you put into WP Mail SMTP depends on your email host’s settings (e.g. SMTP server, port number, security, whether or not to enable certain settings, etc.) We couldn’t know that information, so wouldn’t be able to offer too much guidance on what you need to put in each field. If you’re unsure, you could check the site for your email host and/or contact them to find out. The only setting that we can tell you with certainty is that you need to have “Mailer” set to “Send all WordPress emails via SMTP.” They do have a send test email button that you could use.
Okay thank you! I will look into that and keep trying to fix the mailing once I have those settings in place.
