Support » Fixing WordPress » Redirect a WordPress page to completely another Website that I own

  • Hello everyone,

I have a newbie “How-to” question and I’m going to try to explain the situation step by step:

    1. So I have this WP subdomain URL: subdomain.mysite.com

    2. I want to link another external website to my original website by creating a page: subdomain.mysite.com/demo-page (considering the “other website” is called “demo-page”)

3.The thing is “demo-page” website is not hosted on any server and doesn’t have a domain name. I only have the FTP files.

    4. What I want is: When I click the link called “demo-page” on my subdomain.mysite.com, it takes me to the external website called “demo-page”(opened in another tab) and the hyperlink should be subdomain.mysite.com/demo-page

    5. Is there an easy way(or plugin) to make this happen using the FTP files of “demo-page”?

    Thanks so much

  • As far as I understand you just want to place link somewhere “demo-page” and it to go to a different page. That would be then:

    <a href="http://www.yoururl.com" target="_blank">Demo Page</a>

If you want just to redirect anyone who goes to “subdomain.mysite.com/demo-page”. That can be done with JavaScript redirect:

    <script>window.location = "http://www.yoururl.com";</script>
