I'm building a new website (in WordPress) that is going to replace the existing one (not in wordpress and that I'm not managing) on the main domain.
The existing one will be moved to a subdomain in another server.
Now I want to redirect all links of the existing site to the new website (I can't lose indexed popular links). I think I should use the .htaccess on the new website and for each of the popular links write in .htaccess file something like:
redirect 301 /subdomain.domain.com/new.htm http://domain.com/new.htm
but I'm not sure, and maybe it's a very long process.
