Support » Plugin: WP Clone by WP Academy » Redculously SIMPLE compared to paid plugins

  • I spent roughly 8 hours on a saturday working (and re-working) Updraftplus. As a backup tool it’s fine but as a cloning tool (excuse my french) it sucks and the way they set up their paid add-on workflow is SHADY. I wound up paying $60 for a solution that never worked and because of their small print am likely to not get a refund.

Whoever is reading this: if you are considering cloning your site for testing purposes, etc. DO use WP Clone and stay away from the paid plugins. They might have 5 stars and hundreds of thousands of downloads but, compared to WP Clone, are obnoxiously convoluted and laiden with ways to soak you for more cash.

5 stars for WP clone. You saved my Sunday 🙂

  • Hi stacksurfers,

We have no problem with giving you a refund if UpdraftPlus didn’t work out for you.

We’d appreciate it if you could give us an opportunity first before going public in other forums – the 5-star rating was something we work very hard for!

Your problem with UD not working was caused because during yesterday our download server was serving up a corrupt file as part of the plugin (now fixed). Just drop us a line at; and many apologies for the inconvenience.

    Best wishes,

@stacksurfers reading your review it seems like you’re not happy that a) this is a backup plugin and not a clone plugin and b) you want to leave a 5 start review for another plugin that does clone your site…?

Did you mean to give this one a 5 star?
