[Resolved] Recurring the same event in exactely given dates

  • astandera

    @astandera

    Dear sirs,
is there a way, how to make an repeated event and tell it:
    Taking place on for example: 1.5., 23.6., 19.12. … 2013 – I mean in exact given dates.

Built recurring is repeating in an given period only 🙁 (or I went wrong?)

    Many thanks

    Alois

    Hi Alois,

You’re correct that there’s no way to do this out-of-the-box, but there’s a workaround that might help.

First, create a recurring event and set up the recurring so that the event will repeat for the total number of events you need. For example, if you need 10 events, you could set it to recur once a month for 10 months.

After publishing the event, go to Events > Events. You’ll see all your recurring events listed. If you move your mouse over the event titles, you’ll see there’s an option called Detach.

If you click that, you’ll then be able to set a specific date for that event.

    Hi,
thank you for the toilsome, but working help 😉 It works.
Is the content (text, images) kept from the Reccuring events list after detaching? It means changing one will influence all detached events?

If not, it seems it is also possible to make a plain (not recurring) event, then Duplicate it, change the date and so on = copy/change/publish.

It might be more user friendly to add a button: Add date … maybe … in future editions.

    Otherwise the plugin looks great.

    Thank you

    Alois
