You’ll need to provide me with a way to see your site in order to see this; but one question first: when you add your recurring event, are you adding them with a end date that is the same as the first date? A commonly made error is to add an end date that is the date of the last event in a recurring cycle; this results in a series of very long events overlapping.

The dates set when you create a recurring event are the boundaries of the first instance of that event.

Here is a calendar with a weekly recurring event:

    Start date: 2012-10-03
    End date: 2012-12-20

Looks like the number of entries gets incrementally larger after 7 occurrences. This is a completely fresh WordPress 3.4.2 install with My Calendar 2.0.10 and Twenty Twelve theme.

Yes, the problem is with the end date. What you’ve set up is a weekly recurring event where each occurrence of the event lasts for roughly 10 weeks.

The end date should be when the first event ends — so, in this case, the event lasts from 1:00pm on October 3rd to 2:15pm on October 3rd — it’s the event *series* that lasts until December 20th, not the event itself.

Thanks Joe. Makes perfect sense now that you’ve explained it twice 🙂
