# Recreating database for media content

 * Hey guys!
 * I just migrated one of my WordPress pages to a multisite WordPress installation.
 * With the exported backup I, however, couldn’t get the media files (images and
   galleries) back up. What I did then was just copy all the content from `wp-content/
   uploads` to my new server.
 * WordPress however doesn’t automatically reload them, because apparently it creates
   a database entry for each uploaded file. Now I’m wondering, since I have a backup
   of the old database, which table I need to import into my new database to have
   the `Media` tab in my Dashbord show the images and galleries again? Is there 
   such a way or do I need to upload them by hand again and create all new galleries?

 * You could import all your media files.

 * Yeah, I tried that, but it didn’t seem to work. But even if it did, it wouldn’t
   recreate my galleries for me.
 * I do wonder why WordPress doesn’t have an extra table for pictures and galleries(
   like NextGen for example).
