Recover from deleted .htaccess

    Hello,

    unfortunately FileZilla didn’t show the .htaccess file and I unintentionally overwrote the old ones since no warning was issued.
    I have a multisite setup.
    I went to the main sites Permalink settings and tried to regenerate the .htaccess by setting to default (“ugly”) and then back to the “pretty” settings. After this wouldn’t change anything I recovered the .htaccess from a backup, but this still doesn’t work.
    I’m not getting any error messages (besides server’s 404)

    Any ideas how to get this up and running again?

    You main site console should be accessible even without the .htaccess file. You should be able to get the default settings from the Network menu.

    What’s in your .htaccess that you recovered?

    What are the file permissions?
