Recover files?

    I have little experience with WordPress so please forgive my ignorance. I have a customer who hired me to do customizations on another type of site. I was creating a subdomain in her hosting account and inadvertently overwrote a file that contained a WordPress blog.

    Does WordPress create the site files in the same directory as the platform is installed?

    Does it create site back-ups automatically? If so then where are they located?

    Any assistance is deeply appreciated.

    Not unless a back-up plug-in is installed, and even then, some back-up plug-ins back up the database only, not files.

    Your best bet is to ask the host if they have a backup of the missing files from before you overwrote them.
