 * I have a record in my database in `wp_wrc_caches` set to expire a year from now.
 * Why is it inactive and showing as Expired in the menu?

 * Don’t worry about this one – it was a WordPress issue.
 * Our JSON contained non-printable characters due to binary spatial data in the
   output.
 * For some reason WordPress’ transients API does not handle this properly and refuses
   to fetch the transient, causing your plugin to report the cache item as expired.
 * We simply unset that now and everything is working as expected.

 * I was just about to type that the Expired status could mean that the transient
   isn’t stored correctly, when I saw your second message that you already found
   the cause 🙂
