Recommendation for thumbnail preview plugin

    Hello everyone.

    I’m pretty new to wordpress, new to running a website period. So of course I probably am making an obvious mistake due to not knowing the proper terminology, but I am looking for a plugin that will allow me to put previews of my blog posts into cells. Ideally, this would allow thumbnails. I envision being able to stack these cells in my column, 2 across and as many as I want vertically.

    I have seen a plugin that does this by putting the preview in a single row and you stack the rows but I really want to be able to have that compartmentalized look if such a thing exists.

    If anyone knows of anything like this, would you mind pointing me in the right direction?

    Oh, to clarify one thing, I’m not looking for a widget that only lives in the sidebar. I’m looking for something that lets me put boxes in the actual page. Sort of like a magazine article. It would be nice if it were possible to set it to do generate these automatically as the sidebar preview widgets do, but it’s not a deal breaker if it doesn’t.
