Support » Plugin: EWWW Image Optimizer » Recommend for after the fact optimzation

While doing some testing, I’ve noticed a significant increase in time while upload images. In order to have the best experience for my clients, I’d like to have the optimization happen after the fact, not during upload.

After playing around with the settings, it would seem that disabling automatic optimization and enabling scheduled optimization would be the way to go (https://cloudup.com/corWtJIwvgZ). My question, does scheduled optimization get everything in the media library? Initial testing shows it does not.

I forgot to mention, I’m using the cloud version on WP Engine.

No, it does not. You would need to specify the uploads folder in Folders to Optimize for the scheduled optimize to include the Media Library. The next version will also have an option to do the latest two months worth from the Media Library during Scheduled Optimization.

That would be awesome. I’ll wait for the next version. Thanks!
