    Hi there,

Thank you for the great plugin! πŸ™‚

I just ran into a problem: after upgrading WordPress to version 5.5, when posting new comments with ratings, these ratings cannot be displayed in the recipe. Although the comment has been approved and the rating is displayed in the comment area.

I created two brand new websites and tested:

Test site 1: Running WordPress 5.4, using the default theme (Twenty Twenty, the latest version), and there is only one activated plugin: WP Recipe Maker (the latest version, v6.4.0). When a new comment containing rating is posted, the rating can be correctly displayed in the recipe.

Test site 2: Running WordPress 5.5, using the default theme (Twenty Twenty, the latest version), and there is only one activated plugin: WP Recipe Maker (the latest version, v6.4.0). When a new comment containing rating is posted, the rating is displayed in the comment but not in the recipe.

The only difference between these two test sites is the WordPress version, and the theme used is the default theme.

And I also found a workaround:

If I navigate to “WP Recipe Maker” > “Manage” > “Features” > “Ratings”> find any rating of the recipe, and then click the star to edit this rating (more like “confirm and activate” the rating). After that, the rating I edited and all other ratings of this recipe can be displayed in the recipe.

Is this a problem in WordPress 5.5? Or am I missing any settings? Really appreciate your help.

    Best regards,
    Cain

    Hi Cain,

I cannot replicate the issue on my test site and have not heard from others with this problem.

The recipe has the correct parent post when you check the WP Recipe Maker > Manage page? Does it show the correct rating there?

    Hi Brecht @brechtvds ,

    Thank you for your reply.

When checking the WP Recipe Maker > Manage page, I can see that the recipe has the parent post, but the rating is not shown there.

Thank you for reminding me. It seems that there is a problem with the association between the recipe and the parent post (the reason is not clear, it may be related to some configuration of my test site). I found the “Tools”> “Find Parent Posts” button provided by the plugin. After clicking this button, the ratings on my WP5.5 test site have been correctly displayed in the recipes. It seems that the problem has been resolved. πŸ™‚

Thanks a lot for your help!

    Cheers,
    Cain
