Support » Plugin: WP Recipe Maker » Recipe notes formatting lost if using Text editor

  • Create a recipe, then type two paragraphs into the notes field with the VIsual editor. Hit save – the notes are output correctly. (Checking the database, paragraph tags are included in the meta value).

Edit the recipe, and switch to the Text editor. You’ll see the two paragraphs as expected. Hit save – the notes are now output on the front end with no paragraph tags. (Checking the database, paragraph tags are not included in the meta value).

Edit the recipe again, and you’ll see the paragraphs have been lost in both editors too.

It looks like when using the Visual editor, the paragraph tags are included and actually saved as part of the meta value. To mimic standard WordPress behavior, it’s probably best to save without the autoparagraphing regardless, and then add them when outputting the result.

PS – just want to say that the last few tickets I’ve added have been fixed quickly – I haven’t added a ‘thanks!’ reply, mainly so that you don’t have to re-check the thread and can concentrate on other tickets, but all help has been hugely appreciated 🙂 (And impressively quick.)

    Hi again,

We just released WP Recipe Maker 2.3.0 which now uses wpautop when returning/outputting the recipe notes. Could you check if the behaviour is consistent now?
