Support » Plugin: Google Analytics Dashboard for WP (GADWP) » Recently started getting ‘could not resolve hosts’ error

  • Love the plugin, but a few minutes ago I started getting the error below which seems to be an issue between the plugin and Google:

Could not resolve host: accounts.google.com in /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/google-analytics-dashboard-for-wp/tools/src/Google/IO/Curl.php:86

    Hi,

That’s a server issue, please contact your hosting provider. They need to check if PHP cURL connects successfully over SSL. Providing them the above error from plugin’s Errors & Debug screen will be helpful to them.

This is self-hosted on AWS. It had been working earlier today. I haven’t made any updates to my host. Has the plugin been updated today to force a requirement for ssl-based curl?

No and the SSL is always a requirement for security reasons

I rebooted my host and it started working again. Weird. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
