    Hi all,

Hoping that someone on here can help me!

    http://www.something-borrowed.com.au

I’ve recently done a redesign on my blog, and re-launched it last weekend. As a part of being able to do the redesign and customisation, I had to move to a self hosted model and have tried to migrate everything from my old WP platform across.

A few things I’m having issues with and hoping someone can help with

    – I can’t seem to access my blog via my WP app on my phone anymore even though I’ve updated the URL’s and passwords
    – Can’t seem to get Google Analytics working
    – GA code also appears at base left of the site which I’d like to remove
    – My stats! Can i migrate all my stats from WP so I don’t start from a low base of all time views?
    – I’ve lost all my ‘subscriptions’ to my site, those who previously followed me and got updates are now gone.

Any help is much appreciated, as well as any feedback!

    Thanks,
    Steph

Thanks for moving here, apologies for posting in wrong place!

    Hi somethingborrowed,

Let’s see if we can’t tackle some of your questions.

    – I can’t seem to access my blog via my WP app on my phone anymore even though I’ve updated the URL’s and passwords

Assuming you’re on version 3.4.2 or older, you may need to enable XML-RPC in the ‘Remote Publishing’ section of the Settings > Writing menu. Without it, the app won’t be able to connect with your site.

Can’t seem to get Google Analytics working

You should just be able to add the code inside the <head> tags of your site or download and install one of the many plugins available for Google Analytics, such as Google Analytics for WordPress.

My stats! Can i migrate all my stats from WP so I don’t start from a low base of all time views?

If you download and install the Jetpack plugin, you should be able to hook it to your old wordpress.com profile. I’m not entirely sure on the particulars of carrying your stats over. That question might be best posed in Jetpack’s support section.

I’ve lost all my ‘subscriptions’ to my site, those who previously followed me and got updates are now gone.

Again, I’d look at Jetpack and see if it can help you maintain your previous subscriptions.

    Hope some of that helps.

Re your last question, you need to contact WordPress.COM for help with moving your subscribers — they can do that for you.

You guys are amazing, thankyou so much for all your help!!

I have resolved the app issue and GA issue, so thankyou very much!!

I’m going to post on JetPack’s support section about the other two items as well.

Really appreciate your help, thanks again

    Steph

    Steph,

Glad you figured (most of) it out. Seems like this thread is resolved.
