Support » Plugin: The Events Calendar » Recent updates result in plugin being uninstalled

  • This is the strangest thing I’ve ever seen happen with WordPress — on a managed WP host with other sites using The Events Calendar on the same virtual server instance, one site “loses” the plugin at every update. (All files gone.) This has occurred for the past two or three updates to the plugin. The update is executed remotely, and the plugin disappears without a trace in WP activity logs. The host is stumped, and so am I.

  • Hello,

Can you please confirm whether you’ve reviewed the Testing for conflicts guide and Manual Updates articles? I’m not seeing any logged bugs resembling what you’ve described, so please let me know and we’ll continue investigating.

Thank you and have a great week. Cheers!

No I have not made those tests. It would require creating a staging site and performing upgrades and rollbacks on the plugin repeatedly under different conditions (different themes and plugins active). This is not something I am able to prioritize right now.

The latest update, performed internally, worked without a problem. Usually updates are made remotely, via wp-remote. I’ll continue to monitor this site and see if I can isolate any conditions that reproduce the problem I have had previously.
