Recent update broke the Search widget
-
Hi! The last update broke the Search widget in the sidebar. The frame for the search phrase input box is OK, but the field where the magnifying glass is (which you need to click on to initiate the search and which originally sits right next to the phrase input box) has detached and gone to the right. Now it stands so separately and it all doesn’t look good… looks broken.
Can you fix it, please, or give me some instructions how I can do it alone.
Thanks.-

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out,
In recent updates our devs didn’t include any changes for the searching element and on our testings we couldn’t reproduce any restrictions with the searching. It will be great, if you could share direct URL link to the page where you encountered an issue and describe with screenshots as well.
Cheers
Hi,
Thank you for your answer. The site isn’t public yet, so that’s why I didn’t include a link.
Here is the screenshot of the sidebar with broken Search widget:
Here is the testing page so you can see it live: https://tinyurl.com/m6x4svw8
When I disable the LMS plugin, the widget looks fine again, so it means there is a kind of interaction.
Regards

Hello @majesticana ,
Thank you for the details.
We have tested this with different themes but were unable to reproduce the issue https://prnt.sc/7zL4CrmwU0vj. Additionally, the link you provided does not open on our end.
Could you please specify which theme you are using, on which page you are testing the issue, and provide a list of the plugins installed on your site? This will help us investigate further.
Looking forward to your response.
Best regards,
Julia Ten
Stylemix Support Team.Hello @juliastylemixthemes,
Thank you for response. I don’t know why you can’t open the link I provided, we tested it from different internet providers now and it works fine.
I am using the Avada theme. I have deactivated all plugins except for the two main Avada ones and yours, and the problem persists: the Search widget is broken. If I deactivate your plugin, the widget becomes good again.
Additionally, I have a few more issues with this plugin:
- The appearance settings in the plugin settings throw me to a security screen where I have to confirm that I am not a robot. It only allows me to click Save (new chosen settings) once, and when I do it the second and every subsequent time, it kicks me out. And it only happens when I am adjusting the appearance in your plugin and nowhere else; but this prevents me from setting the appearance that I want. I have already opened a ticket about this issue here.
- After selecting a free course, the user cannot log in but remains stuck on the cart screen. (For payed courses I don’t know how it works because I didn’t try it.)
- And items from the cart cannot be deleted.
I really like your plugin a lot and was eager to purchase the pro version. However, it seems that it is not compatible with the Avada theme I am using, and it might be best for me to look for another LMS plugin. I feel sorry about this.
Kind regards.Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us!
We were able to open the link you provided and visit your website. The search widget appears to be working fine: Screenshot
Please note that MasterStudy LMS does not directly interact with the theme, so there might be some configuration issues affecting the search widget. When you open the page with the search widget, please check your browser console for any errors and send them to us. We’ll analyze them and try to identify the cause.
- <span style=”background-color: initial; font-size: inherit;”>The issue with </span>Appearance settings might not be related to MasterStudy LMS, as there is no reCaptcha option in MasterStudy LMS settings or Appearance settings. This is likely due to server configurations. We recommend checking if there is a firewall on your server that might be causing a human verification redirect.
- As for free courses, they cannot be added to the cart because they are freely accessible to everyone and do not require a purchase. and they will be available to everybody. Additionally, make sure that the free course is configured properly: You need to enable the one-time payment option and set 0 price.
- In default LMS checkout you can remove the courses by clicking on the delete icon on the cart page – https://share.zight.com/P8uKzlQv
Let us know if you need any further assistance—we’re happy to help!
Best regards,
James@jamesstylemixthemes Hi, James! Thank you for your response. But the fact that the widget now looks good is because I uninstalled your plugin and installed another one instead. This still suggests that your plugin was the cause of the problems mentioned above, doesn’t it? With the plugin I’m using now, I don’t have any of those issues, so I still believe that yours is not compatible with my theme (you can also install it and test it yourself, if you’d like). I’ll continue to work with the current one, as I’ve purchased their pro license.
Anyway, I really appreciate your support. Thank you very much!
As far as I’m concerned, this thread can be closed.
Kind regards.
Hi @majesticana,
Sure, we will test the MasterStudy LMS again with the Avada and make compatibility with it.
For now, we wish you good look. Let us know if you need any further help.
Best regards
