• When I signed in today, the login screen told me there was an update to the database that had to be installed. I clicked OK, and went forward. The backend is now updated–it looks quite different. However, many of the features have stopped working.

When editing posts, I can no longer add links using the link button. In the Publish box in the upper righthand corner, I can’t modify anything–status, visibility, or when it is published. In fact, I can’t even get today’s post to publish. I tried all three browsers on my mac, and nothing. The second site I run on wordpress hasn’t undergone the update, and it’s working just fine.

    Thanks for any insight!

  • How did you update the WordPress?

When I went to log in, there was just a message that said the database had to be updated, so I clicked ok. That was it. And I couldn’t login without doing it…

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
