    Beaver Version 1.7.3

    Hi,
    I am trying to add my recent post in a “Category”. I can’t figure out how to do it ? I figured the WordPress widget in the page builder would have something but i can’t find anything that fits the mold. then i though about adding [shortcode]

    [display-posts posts_per_page=”5″ image_size=”thumbnail” include_excerpt=”true”]

    but the short code I enter in Text Editor or Text both appear as it is ?
    What am i doing wrong.

    If i install a widget how do i use it on a post or a page ?

    Hey Shumaila,

    Thanks for posting! Sorry, but I’m not sure I get the gist of the issue. Are you trying to add a category to a Post you recently created? If so, that can be done on the Posts editor. There should be a categories meta box on the right side, just check the category you want it to assigned to. Is that what you’re looking for? I feel like I’m missing something here. If so, can you elaborate on what you’re trying to do? 🙂

    Hi Ben,

    Here is my page http://www.learningrope.com
    On that page I have manually added each of the category with an image and some descriptions in columns i.e
    – Net Framework basic (Column 1)
    – C# Basic (Column 2)

    Under Column 1, I want to display ‘title’ and bit of content may be (but not must) and date of one or two of the most recent posts done in category ‘.Net Framework basic’

    Similarly, under Column 2 which is Category ‘C# Basic’, I want to display 1 or 2 of the recent posts done under that category.

    I hope you understand what I mean.

    Hey Shumaila,

    I see what you mean now. The BB lite version doesn’t have this feature. The shortcode you’re trying to use looks like it could do it, but it requires the plugin below installed.

    On the other hand, on our premium version, we have a Posts module by which you can display Posts on a certain category showing just the excerpt. You can test it out on our site’s demo page below, just click on Page Builder.

    OMG…… thank you so much!!!!!!
    solved my problem. Once I know all my requirements are fulfilled, I will buy the pro version but thanks for being proactive.

    I have another query … should i open another thread or you can guide me here. Pls let me in eihter case.

    Here is the issue. All of a sudden the images on content blocks for all the template have disappeared. They are there. I can click them but i can’t see them before clicking. TIA

    Hey Shumaila,

    No worries at all! The BB lite version doesn’t come with Content Blocks, that’s actually a feature added by your theme which I believe is Tesseract. Your best bet is to get in touch with the theme author. 🙂

    Hi there, kind of following on from this, I’m trying to show the thumbnail of recent blog posts on the homepage using BB but there doesn’t seem to be an option to pull the thumbnail through. Any idea how this can be done?

    Hey Poldy,

    Thanks for posting!

    Do you mind sharing what module you’re using to do this? Our premium version offers a Posts module which has a Gallery layout. Using the said layout pulls only each of the Post’s featured image, and links them to the respective Post itself. You can check the template below for reference.

    If you scroll down on the homepage below the video it shows the latest two recent blogs. I was wondering how you would get a featured image to show there?

    Hey Poldy,

    Does the widget you’re using not have an option to show the featured image? If so, then you’ll have to look for a different widget. Our page builder has no control over what the widgets offer. It simply allows you to use it on the frontend. 🙂

    I’ve tried the plugin below and it has an option to add the featured image. Feel free to give it a shot.
