"Recent Posts" theme widget - All dates the same! (6 posts)

    Hi everyone,
On my website (www.meridian-online.com), I'm using a widget which came included with my theme, and which displays a list of the most recent posts from the blog.

It used to work fine, but since we moved the website to a new server, something weird is happening: on each page where this widget appears in the sidebar, all the posts in the list are shown as having been posted on the same date, instead of showing their respective posting dates. (for example, if a post was issued on Oct 3, another on Oct 6 and the third on Nov 2, all posts will be displayed with date "Oct 3")

Could this be related to certain server settings we need to change?

Thanks for your reply, Alchymyth, but I suspect it is not a problem linked to the theme I'm using -- the widget was working fine on all other servers and localhosts I tried before moving to this new server. I just can't find the source of the issue.

Other plugins have also been coming up with error messages according to which various directories of this new server cannot be written into -- despite all permissions being configured correctly.

So all this leads me to suspect some server setting is at the root of all these bizarre phenomena.

    Any recommendations?

We do not support commercial themes as you paid for support when you bought the theme. It is not our place to keep theme vendors in business or deprive them of any income that they may derive from support services.

    Hi Esmi,
    But what if:
    - the theme designer remains perpetually oblivious to any form of complaint or help request? (mine is)
    - said theme worked fine for more than a year on various sorts of servers, including online and localhosts, before trying it out on this new server? (mine did)

I lack specialist knowledge in this field, but something tells me the theme is not in cause. I may be wrong. One thing's for sure: the theme developer is AWOL...

I'm really sorry to hear that you've purchased a theme with poor support but there's nothing we can really do to help here. Since this widget is part of the theme, it's definitely a theme issue and third party vendors have nothing to do with us. It might be time to cut your losses and look for a quality free theme. You should then be able to use the standard Recent Posts widget that is part of WordPress itself.
