Recent Posts Displaying on Homepage

    I am fairly new to WordPress – I modified a WordPress template so that it fits into the current design of an exisiting client’s site…so the blog is currently at http://www.clientsite.com/blog/ (example) and looks like the rest of the pre-existing site. Now they want a few lines of the 3 most recent posts to display on the homepage of their site (not part of the blog). Is this even possible? The site was built using PHP but the homepage is not in the same directory as the blog stuff obviously. Any help or tips would be much appreciated. Thanks!
