    Dear Richie,

I found the theme I was looking for. Thank you!!

This may be a simple question:

I need to have “Recent Post” (currently on the sidebar) as Homepage Featured Category 1

    How do you do this?

Just in case, here is my test site: http://birds.surbound.com/birds/

Thanks much, and I appreciate your patience to respond to all of these user inquiries.

  • That would be useful for me too.

I would like to have the last articles as featured on the grid of the homepage. I thought I could create a “recent articles” category, but then the category will appear also along with the others on the sidebar.

    How can I do this?

    Thank you for your help.

My blog is quiet small and I don’t use the boxes but I think you may create a category and call it archive or all posts and then you add all posts to it and add the categpry to one of the boxes.

    Richie?

Or someone who has resolved this?

Figuring this out is all I need.

There has to be a way to do this, since most blogs naturally want to show the most recent post on the front page.

@christine and @3bdelra.. Creating a Category named “Recent Posts” would do the trick, but you would have to assign every post to the “Recent Posts” Category and the other categories the post naturally belongs to. At the same time you have a “Recent Posts” widget.

Yes Surbound, but you can’t use the widget on the grid homepage.

I used the widget on the sidebar, but would like to have this recent posts category on the homepage grid.

if you do not need a featured category homepage, just do not setup them in theme option->homepage setting->featured category

then it will use ‘blog’ list style with your latest post. much easier.

the theme did not have ‘magazine’ style for blog list.

the purpose of the featured category homepage is to highlight your more important category’s latest posts.

    Thanks for responding Richie,

The only solution I found was to create a Category named “Recent Posts” and have it as one of my two Featured Categories. I can then deactivate my Recent Post Widget on the right column.

    Thanks,

    Surbound
