recent post showing twice on homepage

    Hi. I’m very new to wordpress and I’ll admit I’m scared of the coding pages..
    but, I downloaded this theme and I think it’ll be a really good one for me. One that I can grow into … still simple to get started.
    My problem is I can’t figure out how to get rid of the most recent post from showing twice on my homepage. If I go into Settings- Reading – My front page displays my latest posts.. I have blog pages set to show 4 posts.
    And in my Appearance settings under Blog, it doesn’t matter what I put the featured post count slider bar on..
    Any suggestions???
