This is the same new-order email that was always sent, just the subject is different. You can edit or disable under WooCommerce / Settings / E-mails / New Order
No, its not tehe same. The old version email comes translated, this one is only english, and the worst, Cha-ching! is fixed at the template. Some one changed the template. Will come back to older version !!!
This update really just changed the e-mail-templates without a warning. Myself and my customers got mails with phrasings I would never use. This is horrible change management.
Mail-Templates I used were changed. And disabled Mails were enabled. That’s crazy.
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out!
The new email you’re seeing may be related to the “Enable modern email design for transactional emails” setting, which may have been enabled during the 9.9.3 update.
To check this:
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Features
- Scroll down and look if “Enable modern email design for transactional emails” is checked, try disabling it
- Save changes and test again
Let us know if that stops the new email from being sent!
The mail comes to previous version after uncheck this option. Some parts of the new mail are not being translated (new order). Dont understando why the is the fixed word Cha-ching! at subject !
Hi there!
I completely understand your concern, and I’m happy to clarify this.
The subject line “Cha-ching! You’ve got a new order” is part of the new modern email design introduced in WooCommerce version 9.9.3. When the “Enable modern email design for transactional emails” option is enabled, WooCommerce uses updated email templates — including this default subject line.
If you’d prefer to use a custom subject, you can change it by going to: WooCommerce → Settings → Emails → New Order → Manage, then editing the “Email subject” field.
However, Since you’ve mentioned that you disabled the modern email template feature, that text should no longer appear in the subject line.
As for the translation issue — could you please share the site language you’ve set, and a screenshot of the email where the English text still appears? Also, if possible, share a screenshot of a previous email (using the old template) where translations were working correctly. You can use this tool to upload screenshots: https://snipboard.io
Once we have more details, we’ll be happy to assist you further with the translation issue!
What do you think my Finnish customers think when the topic is Cha-Ching? Are you serious? A totally stupid update by default.
Yeah, i know how to fix this. Think twice next time.

Totally agree, Cha Ching is ridiculous.
If I go to Notifications/Email/NewOrder the subject line is grey and un-editable?
(Storefront with child theme)
Hi @sonic1243 ,
Totally understand where you’re coming from!
While the subject line in Notifications → Email → New Order may look greyed out, it’s actually just showing the default placeholder. You can absolutely type your own custom subject line there, it will override the default.
Thank you.
Oh so it is, sorry!
You can’t edit that text, or copy it, I had to use Inspect Element in order to copy the content, paste it, and then edit it. Thank you 🙂Hi @sonic1243,
You’re very welcome, glad you were able to work around it using Inspect Element! You’re right that the text isn’t directly editable or selectable in the interface.
If you have a moment, we’d really appreciate it if you could leave a quick review for WooCommerce here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce/reviews/#new-post
Thank you.
The text ‘Cha-ching!’ is totally crazy, and the Dutch translation is just as bad! I am using Woocommerce for serious companies that do not say ‘Cha-ching!’ when they receive a new order. I wasn’t aware of these textual changes so I received an email from a client today asking what this text was about?!
In order to translate (and thus change) the text you could also use the plugin Loco translate. This is what I wanted to add to this tread and my first comment is just something to get of my chest 🙂
Hi @rvof,
I hear your frustration and completely understand how disruptive that unexpected “Cha-ching!” subject line must have felt, especially when it wasn’t something you chose and didn’t reflect the tone you want for your store communications.
Just to clarify, that text was only applied to the New Order email notification sent to the store owner, not the customer. Still, we agree that it didn’t suit all store types or languages, and many merchants shared similar concerns.
Based on the feedback we received, we’ve removed this phrase from the default subject line in the latest update, WooCommerce 9.9.4, which was released yesterday. Once you update to this version, the subject will return to a more neutral format.
Thanks again for sharing your experience, and if there’s anything else you’d like us to look into, feel free to let us know!
