At first I want to thank you for this great plugin!

I just ran into a small but very important issue. Is there a way to change the language used in the printed receipts? In my case I need to translate some words into german (“tax”=”Steuern”, “Payment Method”=”Zahlungsmethode”,…). Is there any form of documentation to change the template easily?

    Thank you in advance!

Thank you for those kind words. We work hard to provide a great plugin for the community! 🙂

    Yes, the plugin supports translation.

All the strings in the plugin are shown here, including template strings.

You can translate the strings for your specific language, export the .po/.pot file and add the language file to the /lang directory in the plugin.

Thank you very much for your fast reply! 🙂

I uploaded the .po file but nothing changes? Are there any additional steps required to activate the language file?

We don’t see any translations in the dashboard for German.

Could you please send us the .po and .mo files you are using. We will take a look and test on our development servers.

I just translated just the few I needed because of time constraints:

But I figured out that the exact naming of the .po file is crucial! And an .mo file is also mandatory.
So I installed to program “POEdit”, downloaded the original language files (uk) and translated some strings into german. I exported the files an named them like this:

    Print-Google-Cloud-Print-GCP-WooCommerce-de_DE.po

    Print-Google-Cloud-Print-GCP-WooCommerce-de_DE.mo

After uploading them back to the directory wp-content/plugins/print-google-cloud-print-gcp-woocommerce/lang all of a sudden it works! 🙂
Now I’m a really happy camper! Thanks for your support!

Apologies, I should have noted that naming convention. Yes, the naming convention needs to match the text domain used within the plugin to read it properly. Great to hear you got it working and are a really happy camper! We love hearing that feedback.

As a happy camper, please consider leaving us a ★★★★★ rating on the plugin directory. This helps other users in the WordPress community discover the plugin and keeps us motivated to develop for the community.
