# reCaptcha v2 Issue

 * We added ASYNC JS and even excluded:
 * google.com/recaptcha, [https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api.js](https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api.js)
 * But we still get this error on the CONTACT US forms (using Gravity Forms): The
   reCAPTCHA was invalid. Go back and try it again.
 * We also use Autoptimize – FYI.
 * How can we fix this? Thanks.

 * I see “jQuery is not defined” errors on the browser console, you’ll have to exclude
   jQuery from being deferred mhern2014

 * Hi,
 * Thank you. That worked. But by doing that, my Google Page Speed (GPS) Scores 
   tanks.
 * Is there a way to have the recaptcha working and not ding my GPS?

 * well, the problem is *something* (a plugin) requires jQuery to be available early(
   making it render-blocking which impacts e.g. your first contentful paint), if
   you can identify that plugin and reconfigure it or remove/ replace it, you would
   not need to exclude jQuery from being deferred.
