• Hi. This is one of those things that I am not sure where to post. It is a question more aimed at understanding that actually fixing something.

My question is about the situation where two different plugins on the same site both offer reCaptcha v3.

So a few days ago, I loaded Contact Form 7, and with it I also set up reCaptcha v3.

Yesterday, I loaded Users Registration to improve my registration page. It also has reCaptcha integration available. I have not set it up yet but the reCaptach icon is already showing up on the new registration page.

So I am trying to make sense of that. Seems that once you have v3 working from one plugin, it applies itself to other plugins that have form fields.

Should I activate it in the second plugin (with the same keys) or just leave as is?

As always, if there is a better place to post this, please advise me. I don’t feel that it is a plugin specific question.

I recommend asking at the plugin’s dedicated forum via its page in the Plugin Repository so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

well I am going to try that but I am expecting a response like “well it works in our plugin, we don’t know about other plugins”.

Seems like more of a global WP set of circumstances. Maybe there is a reCaptcha support forum somewhere.

reCaptcha is a Google owned and operated service: https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/v3.html

Plugin authors add reCaptcha for your use in their plugins, but it’s not a core feature of WordPress itself. That is why you should follow the moderator’s recommendation to speak directly with the plugin author(s) for support for this feature.

reCaptcha will not work without registering API keys with the Google service. Could they possibly both work if you’re registered the keys in only one plugin? Maybe, but to be definitive, you should speak to both plugin authors about your issue and tell them exactly what is happening – that one seems to be activating and/or affecting the other. They should be able to work it out amongst themselves.
