reCAPTCHA: Could Not Open Socket (2 posts)

    I've installed the reCAPTCHA plugin to my site's blogs, but every time it's attempted the error comes back with "Could not open socket." I'm not great at sorting out PHP, so the various hacks I found online either did nothing or made no sense.

    I'm suspecting this is a server-side issue than anything else, but in case it's not I thought I'd see if anyone here has any info about a fix. You can see it yourself at spiritquesting.com/testing (using just the sample post/comment to test these sorts of things).

    that plugin calls back to recaptcha.net using fsockopen -- if your host has disabled that function, its not going to work --
